Using three ostrich eggs, the entire kabuto helmet—including the bowl, visor, fukigaeshi (turnbacks), crest, and shikoro (neck guard)—was crafted from eggshells and adorned with gold leaf, mother-of-pearl, and metal fittings. It is large enough for a baby to wear.
